Crested Guineafowl are extraordinary looking birds - with quite funky crests and the most beautiful patterning of feathers. They inhabit the more tropical areas of southern Africa - I've observed them at the very northern part of Kruger National Park (Pafuri picnic site and Punda Maria camp ground) and around Hilltop Camp in the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve. They are one of my favourite African birds and I'm always delighted when we happen upon them - which is not that often.
