Eclectus Parrots are unusual in the bird world in that the female is more brightly coloured than the male. The male is green and the female is a bright red and blue. In Australia we observed them in Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park on Cape York - a lowland tropical rainforest in far north Queensland.
