On a long field trip to outback Northern Territory and Queensland a few years ago we made our way to a place called "The Lost City" in Limmen National Park. Apart from the spectacular rock formations the bird watching was also terrific. Although Rainbow Lorikeets are now quite common in the Ballarat area it was great to see them in a feeding frenzy on the flowers of Darwin Woolly-butt - with the bright orange of these flowers up against the spectacularly coloured lorikeets - it was for me a perfect match.
