I'm fortunate to have a partner who loves gardening and for over 35 years has taken on the challenge of growing Waratahs - with very mixed success. However, early on he planted a group of "Shady Ladies" in a very sheltered spot where they have thrived. Each year they produce bounteous blooms - a spectacular display - which only lasts a few weeks but is worth waiting for.
