WILDLIFE LOVERS. Wild 4 Art is a concept which four artists: Vida
Pearson, Darren Gilbert, Janet Matthews & Rodger Scott, had been mulling
over individually before it became a topic of conversation over coffee one day.
These 4 professional artists had been working and exhibiting together
with the Wildlife Art Society of Australasia and found they had many ideas,
plans and ethics in common, thus inspiring them to officially form an exhibition
group. Hence the birth of Wild4Art in 2009. On many levels the four artists work well both as a team and as an exhibition group. All share a passion for wildlife subjects and an intense love of art. Each has attained a high level of skill, is well respected in the art world and is motivated and keen to create exhibition opportunities. The fact that they work in different mediums and have very individual styles allows them to work harmoniously together and all enjoy each other’s company, endeavouring to support and encourage each other to grow and develop. Wild 4 Art reflects very well the group’s united
love of art and wildlife, all enriched with a good dose of ‘fun’. Wild4Art – The Artists Vida
Pearson - Linocuts Darren
Gilbert – Multi Media
Darren Gilbert is a multi
skilled artist, with varied interests in the fields of design, pen & ink,
painting, sculpture and digital arts, all revolving around Australian
Wildlife, especially birds. Currently Darren is building a studio in the
Highlands of idyllic, central Victoria where he will continue to explore his Rodger Scott - Painting
Rodger Scott has always held great admiration for
Australian animals and birds, so it was only natural that, when he started
painting his preferred subject matter was native wildlife.
Rodger’s artworks are painted in watercolour and gouache (opaque
watercolour), which allows a freedom of technique that transparent watercolour
alone wouldn't give. Janet Matthews – Colour Pencil and Graphite
Janet Matthew’s
individual style of combining coloured pencil and graphite has been described as
"weaving magic with pencil". Her
realistic, detailed and gentle drawings are always of a high standard and
reflect her own personality, humour and life experiences.
Her drawings of animals and birds are full of personality and continue to
win prizes and awards, including
commissions by Australia Post for stamp images released in 2006 and 2009. http://matthews.alphalink.com.au
