Riflebird bookcase

The doors imitate the display made by the riflebirds of Queensland's rainforests. The piece is built around the unusual shape of the curly Queensland maple veneer. The carcass work is in blackwood with nicely figured blackwood veneer applied to the drawer front and top (of base). The finish is shellac, with the black sections being ebonized.
